Residential Power Washing FAQs

Thinking about investing in power washing services for your home in the Dallas area, but have some questions? Never fear! The crew at Best PowerWash Dallas is here to help you out with the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about power washing.

How Frequently Should I Clean My Home?
Most vinyl siding manufacturers recommend power washing your home every one to two years. This will keep your siding free of algae, mildew, mold, and dirt in order to keep your home looking its best.

Do I Need To Be Present When My Home Is Cleaned?
Not at all. We understand the challenge of juggling work, school, and family schedules. At Best PowerWash Dallas, we promise to provide a safe, effective, and thorough cleaning regardless of whether or not you are at home.

Does Power Washing Require Water Or Some Other Forms Of Chemicals?
Proper power washing techniques require a specific ratio of water and cleaning chemicals. These chemicals, also called power washing detergents, are used to kill the bacteria on your siding and achieve a more effective clean. At Best PowerWash Dallas, we use the latest technology and biodegradable chemicals that will not cause any harm to the natural environment.

Can Power Washing Damage My Home?
If not done correctly, power washing can cause serious damage to any surface. High pressure washers typically use so much force that they can damage even the hardest of surfaces (such as cement or brick), so they can certainly hurt the siding on your home as well. At Best PowerWash Dallas, we use only soft power washing and steam washing techniques in order to keep your surfaces safe from damage.

Can I Power Wash My Home Myself?
You can purchase or rent a power washer and attempt to clean your home on your own, but we recommend hiring a trained professional to handle it for you. Untrained power washers may inadvertently damage their home, costing themselves a great deal of money on repairs. Spending the money to hire a skilled professional may cost you a little more up front, but it will definitely save you money in the long run.

4 Sneaky Ways To Boost Curb Appeal

If you're thinking about selling your home in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area, having amazing curb appeal is no longer optional. "Curb appeal" refers to the visual appeal your home has when people are standing on the curb and looking at your house. It is the first impression first-time visitors and/or prospective home buyers get of your home, and its importance cannot be underestimated.

If you're interested in learning more about boosting curb appeal for Dallas homes, you have come to the right place! Here are several ways Best PowerWash Dallas can help you increase your home's curb appeal from the ground up.

1. Power Wash Your Driveways, Sidewalks, & Patios

Cement, bricks, and paving stones look fantastic when they are first installed, but over time dirt, mud, dust, mildew, plant matter, and bird droppings can take their toll. Your once bright, cheery driveways and patios can become dull, grey, and dingy. Best PowerWash Dallas can give your homes a much-needed makeover by power washing these surfaces and bringing them back to their original glory.

2. Power Wash Your Decks & Fences

Attractive decks and fences are wonderful selling points to any home. They provide homeowners with space to enjoy spending time outside and can help define (and protect) your property lines. Unfortunately, decks and fences are also frequent victims of mildew and dirt residue. Breathe some life back into both your decks and fences with help from the team at Best PowerWash Dallas.

3. Power Wash Your Siding

When's the last time you thought about cleaning the exterior walls of your home? If you're like most people, it's probably been a long time! If your siding has not been power washed recently, it would probably be a great idea to give it a thorough cleaning. Mold and mildew can build up on siding, giving it a dingy appearance and potentially triggering allergic reactions in your family, friends, and/or potential home buyers. Best PowerWash Dallas can help you combat these challenges.

4. Power Wash Your Roofs

When it comes to enhancing your home's curb appeal, a clean roof is the icing on the cake. Mold and mildew frequently grow on shingles, causing unsightly black streaks across your roof. Not only that, but mildew growth on roofs can drastically shorten the roof's lifespan and cause adverse health effects in the people living in your home (and potential buyers). If you notice dark black streaks on your rooftop, don't hesitate to give Best PowerWash Dallas a call.

Power Washing Done Right

At Best PowerWash Dallas we believe in producing high-quality clean for an affordable price. We use the latest technology in steam washing and soft washing services to ensure that your home is cleaned safely and effectively. Top 3 Reasons To Remove Graffiti ASAP

Graffiti - one of business' owners worst nightmares. Often appearing in the form of unwanted spray paint on public or private property, graffiti is one of the biggest factors that can greatly diminish your company's visual appeal. Here are the top three reasons why you should invest in graffiti removal for commercial properties as soon as possible:

Best PowerWash Dallas can safely remove unwanted graffiti.

1. Graffiti can hide important information.

Graffiti can cover up signs and other structures that display your business name, hours of operation, and other important information. If your potential customers do not have easy access to this information, they may not recognize who you are and/or how to reach you. As a result, they may take their business elsewhere.

2. Inappropriate and/or explicit graffiti hurts your business' credibility.

Graffiti is most commonly associated with lower socio-economic areas, gangs, violence, and drugs. When your business building and/or signs are tagged with graffiti, your materials begin advertising the graffiti artist and his/her gang associations instead of your business. Also, if graffiti is not removed for an extended period of time, it may appear that you are not invested enough in your business to care for it. All of these things can seriously hurt your business' credibility.

3. Graffiti harms the whole community.

Your business may have been the one that was tagged, but your business is not the only one who will suffer as a result. Neighboring properties will drop in value, and the community's reputation will suffer as a whole. When graffiti appears on government-owned properties, tax payers' dollars must go towards removing it.

If graffiti appears on your business, you owe it to yourself and your community to get it removed as soon as possible. Best PowerWash Dallas offers professional graffiti removal in Dallas, Texas. We can also remove gum and gum stains from your sidewalks and driveways.

5 Types of Mold Commonly Found in Homes

Although we might try to convince ourselves otherwise, mold growth in homes is more common than we think. Abundant moisture is the main element most molds need in order to grow, and it can be surprisingly difficult to keep our homes' moisture levels in check.

There are several different types of molds that are commonly found in homes. How do you know which kind you have? Your friends at Best PowerWash Dallas are here to help!

Aspergillus

Aspergillus is commonly found on foods and (unfortunately) home air conditioning systems. As with most other types of home mold, some people experience moderate to severe allergic reactions when they come into contact with aspergillus. Elderly people, infants, and people with weakened immune systems typically experience the worst symptoms, but aspergillus can cause reactions even in healthy individuals.

Stachybotrys Chartarum

This is one of the most dangerous forms of home mold. Slimy and black in nature, this mold is commonly referred to as "black mold." It is also sometimes called "toxic mold," although the mold itself is not toxic. Rather, it releases tiny substances toxic called mycotoxins. These mycotoxins can cause severe reactions in people they come into contact with, such as asthma attacks and sinus infections. Black mold typically only grows in areas with constantly elevated moisture levels, such as around leaky pipes or in air conditioning units with lots of condensation.

Cladosporium

Cladosporium usually grows on painted surfaces, fiberglass air ducts, wood and carpeted surfaces, and the backs of toilets. It usually has a black or greenish color. This mold is nontoxic, but it can trigger allergic reactions. Common reactions include rashes, red/watery eyes, and respiratory problems.

Alternaria

Alternaria requires extremely moist environments in order to survive and grow. This mold typically grows outside, but it can also be found in very wet areas indoors, such as in showers, around leaky pipes, or in areas that have been flooded. This type of mold can cause allergic reactions in some people. The real problem with this mold is that it can easily spread from one area to another, so the population can get out of hand very quickly.

Penecillium

Penecillium also spreads quickly. This mold is typically found on wallpaper, carpet, insulation, and even mattresses - especially if any of those areas have been subject to recent water damage. Inhaling spores from this type of mold can cause allergic reactions such as inflammation of the lungs and sinus infections. This mold is easy to identify because it typically appears as a greenish or blueish color.
